Life was tough in the Gentleman's game
the kangaroo's were getting into everyone's nerves...
They had won several battles
and hurt many souls....

They carried along arrogance and ego in their pouch
An extra ounce of high handedness as well!!
All well hidden under the disguise of professionallism.
They used their strong tail to the maximum...
to leap high and to hit hard!!!
Their weapons of mass destruction
included 11 players called punter men.
And their media hounded day and night....
libelers looking for innocent preys

They hopped across the whole globe
trotting everywhere, demolishing everything.
From the lovely Eden's to the mecca called Lords
they fouled, cheated, abused........
and kept winning!!!

The rest of the world lived with fear
Never had they seen such ruthlessness..
and they kept praying for a saviour..
who could beat them in all formats of the game.

Finally the Big Elephant from the land of the forests,
woke up to the situation at hand!!!
And he decided to end this menace once and for all.
With his blue cataphract and huge expectations,
he started his journey, to the villains lair.

When the pachyderm set foot on the Oz land,
the summer winds were blowing hard..
All set and wasting no time
he challenged the kangaroos for a duel.

The armageddon began..
with the punter men at their elemental best
firing from deadly weapons and using tricks
Ground taunts, Vilification, Sledging...
One after the other after the other....
But the Big Elephant held its ground
The SCG's, the Perths, the Gabbas..
facing the bouncers with courage!!

Days and nights the battle went on..
over and over again
And finally when the time was right,
The elephant moved in for the kill...
finding the Aborigine go for a leap,
it wound its trunk over its neck...
and slammed it back to the ground.

the white flags where drawn...
a truce was declared...
Loud trumphets signalled to the world
that the war was over....
once and for all
and a new Era had dawned....
better, brighter and of fair play.

End of the season, when the sails were set,
the outsted kangaroos were warned...
No more abuses .. no more taunts ...
and no more monkeying around!!
